John Chamberlain b. abt 1730-35 CT
I am looking for connections to a line of 3 generations of John Chamberlains. The first known John Chamberlain b. abt 1730-35 in CT. His son John Chamberlain b. abt 1759 reported went to Yale college and ran off to join the Revolutionary Patriots against England abt 1774 or 1775. The data I own says He was Captured at Brandywine, forced above a POW ship at Delaware Bay.
The only detail I have abt my first John b. abt 1730 was he married either a Margaret Matilda or Matilda ATHERTON. Matilda reported was born in MA, but her family may have moved to CT, where John was said to been born. I received this data below from a fellow Atherton research which knew I was looking for an Atherton/Chamberlain connection:
Received an article yesterday from the Lancaster Co PA Historical Society
regarding Cornelius Atherton signing a contract dated December 20, 1775in
Amenia NY.It reads as follows:
"Cornelius Atherton, gunsmith, and John Chamberlain, physician of Amenia
precinct in Dutchess and Province of New York, contracted December 20, 1775,
to deliver to Colonel Alexander McDougall and Peter Theobaldus Curlennus of
the city of New York, before the first of April next, good muskets and
bayonet sheath and steel ramrod to each musket, well made and finished
according to good workmanship and for three pound fourteen shilling each."
"Cornelius Atherton
"John Chamberlain
"Witnesses
"Reuben Delano
"David Doty
Cornelius Atherton, I found was from Canterbury Windham Co., CT before Amenia NY, and then Luzerne Co, PA.
While looking again through many files of Chamberlain lines, I discovered 2 John's born almost my exact times I have data on. They were descendants of Clement of MA and the Dr. Joseph Chamberlain of Amenia, Dutchess Co, NY(near the CT/NY border)
I now am almost sure that my Matilda was or "may have" been the Margaret unknown that this John b. 1730 married (2) in the file below, or he quite possibly could have been married to a Matilda Atherton a third time. All information fits rather well down to dates and locations of most of the surnames in my data. Her name could very well have been Margaret Matilda Atherton. I noted that John s/o Joseph(listed below) also had a last daughter who was named Matilda Chamberlain. Another big coincidence?

Looks pretty interesting to me...how about any one else? Is there any substantial data on this John b. 1730 in Manfield CT.?
The John above must be the Dr. John Chamberlain mentioned in the transaction between Cornelius Atherton, the Gunsmith in Amenia, since Joseph was a Dr. too.
I believe these My John Chamberlain b. abt 1730-45 and this John Chamberlain(above)b. 1730 to be the same.
Does anyone have data to disprove this?
