I have records of a William Chalmers and a Francis Chalmers from Newmains. I have located William's death record of 1926. His son, Francis was listed on the record as next of kin. He died in Overtown. It is possible that this William is the brother of James Chalmers b. 1848 in Newmains. James Chalmers is my gg grandfather. His father's name was William Chalmers b.in 1823 in the same area. Do these dates line up with your information? If this is the same family, I have more information to share with you.
