Charles Boorn Chalmers married Mary Margaret Deschamps in Fawley, Hampshire. She was the daughter of Henry Deschamps and Ann Martin. Mary Deschamps was born around 1820 in India (East Indies).
They seem to have had at least 8 children - Henry, Isabella and Blyth, who were born in Weston Super Mare, Somerset between 1846 and 1850 ; Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth, Agnes and George who were born in Canada between 1855 and 1863.
Charles Boorn Chalmers died between 1863 and 1871, when his widow Mary Margaret returned to the UK to visit her sister in Hythe, Southampton, England with some of her children. Isabella, Elizabeth and Agnes remained living with their aunt Jane Deschamps in Hythe until 1900, when they inherited the house.
