Old message traffic indicates that he first married in New Hampshire.
You could try asking on the NH board for a lookup of the marriage.
Quite often, men named Toussaint were born Nov 1 which is All Saints Day.

Searching for information on a Toussaint (John) Chagnon who married Emilie Lamy/Lamie in Great Falls, New Hampshire. (This is now Sommersworth, New Hampshire) Date of marriage was 9 February 1869. Emilie was born in 1847. They left there shortly thereafter and moved to Manitoba, Canada. There is a possibility that they were originally from Canada before going to New Hampshire. Does anyone have any information on these people?
