Augustus Larose, a stab in the dark!

I have been stuck on an Augustus Larose in my husband's tree. Per US census records, he was born Dec 1832 in Canada, French. He came to the US in 1852. He married Marie Parenteau (born in Yamaska; I have her tree traced) about 1863 in Anoka, Minnesota. I am wondering if he was using a dit name. Does anyone have a Augustus in their family that fits this description? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Trish Boen
