For anyone who owns the "Chaffee Genealogy," has anyone noticed any mention of Chaffee's from Michigan? My gg-grandfather was Joseph Chaffee (also spelled as Chaffey, Chaffy, and Chafy), born about 1846, died 1913. He and his family lived in Novi Township, near the Wixom/Pontiac area. He was born in Michigan and apparently married his (second?) wife Elizabeth in Ohio. Many of his children were born in Ohio, but the family was living in Michigan by 1900. His children were Samuel, Warren, Byron, Frank, and Rhoda. In IGI, there is a reference to possible parents named Samuel Chaffy and Rhoda Squire (or Squires). Does anyone know if any of these people connect to any of the longer Chaffee/Chaffey lines?
