Hi Steve, Your information was helpful. I am trying to find out everything I can on Amos Wells Chaffee. I was told our line goes back to him. You mentioned that Amos had 14 children. Do you know the names of the rest of the children? My gr-gr-grandfather was John Calvin Chaffee b abt 1811, who also had a son named John Calvin Chaffee. They both married a Sally. I'm wondering if he maybe a brother to Amos. He was born about the same time as Amos, so he could not be a son. I was told they came to Chemung Co, NY then to Tioga Co, NY. My line ended up in Potter,PA. Thanks Bea Daggett
