Hi, Bobbi. The index of "THE CHAFFEE GENEALOGY" lists 40 references to "Abigail Chaffee or Chaffe". Many born in 18th century had fairly complete histories that did not include marriage to a Rev. Eno. Two without full histories were born in CT between 1730 and 1760, married someone else, but could have remarried if their first husband had died before 1778. However, the best prospect for your Abigail was born Jan 2, 1753 in Woodstock, CT of James Chaffee, born about 1713, probably in Swansea, Mass., died, May 22, 1799, in Monson, Mass., and the former Beriah Hayden, born Feb 10, 1715-16, married in Woodstock June 16, 1737, died Woodstock June 24, 1758. Beside a baptism date of March 11, 1753, in the First Congregational Church,Woodstock, no further information on this Abigail was included. She did have two aunts and a sister-in-law named Hannah, a father named James, a grandfather and greatgrandfather named Joseph (Chaffe), and several other relatives named Jonathan; however, these were all names common in those days. Her greatgreatgrandfather was Thomas Chaffe, the emigrant ancestor of nearly all those in the USA who today bear this surname under its varied forms. Beriah's parents were not named. I recommend a library search for a local copy of the above book, by William Chaffee, 1908.
