The Chaffee Genealogy by William Chaffee and published in 1909 has the following information on Albert Orson Chaffee:
was born in Richfield, O., April 22, 1838, and married (1)in Salem, Ind. 1859, Mary Elizabeth, daughter of Almond Tinklepaugh of Pent Water, Mich. She was born January 14, 1837, died in April 1864, and was buried in Turkey Creek, Ind. Mr. Chaffee married (2) in April 1865, Julia Ann Rowley, born July 12,1841. He is a member of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, which he joined at the age of twenty-eight. He has a light complexion, blue eyes, and is five feet, seven inches in height. In 1859 he lived in Turkey Creek, and in 1891 in Rowland, Mich. He is a farmer and a man of sterling character.

You are probably aware that our immigrant ancestor was Thomas Chafe who had two sons Nathaniel and Joseph. Albert Orson is descended through Nathaniel's line as I am also.
