Hi all,
I am not a Chaffee descendant, however, I found an obituary that some of you may be interested in.
MAJOR CHAFFEE DEAD
KANSAS CITY, MO., May 7.-Major O. P. Chaffee, who was an officer in the Confederate army and was a brother of Lieutenant-General Adna R. Chaffee, U. S. A. (retired), of Los Angeles, died at him[sic:his] home here to-day of kidney trouble, aged 79 years.
This from a Richmond, Va. newspaper, "The News-Leader," Thursday afternoon, May 7, 1908 issue.
