I am a descendant of John Chasey, who came from Butleigh Parish, Somerset Co., Eng. to New York City ca 1718. As I began exploring the Chasey surname in Somerset Co. I found several Chaffey (Chafey, Chafy) marriage records. Thinking that Chasey might be a variant spelling of Chaffey (or vice versa), I copied down the Chaffey records. I am posting them here since they may be of use to someone. These records are taken from the book "Marriage Licences in Bath and Wells England Previous to 1755", transcribed and edited by Arthur J. Jewers in 1909. Unless otherwise noted, the following records can be found on pp. 68-69. Due to time constraints I was unable to copy down the full abstract of every record.
