I've been reading up on Adna Chaffee, myself, although it's not a close relationship. There are actually 3 Adna Romanza Chaffees,the 3rd one is Adna R. Chaffee III. He enrolled at West Point in the class of 1934, but did not graduate.
The Chaffee for whom Fort Chaffee, AR, is named is Adna Chaffee, Jr., Father of the Armored Force. He died of cancer in Boston in 1941. Just thought I'd throw that in.
