Nathaniel Chaffee b 1705 Massachusetts ?

I have been following the various questions about Nathaniel Chaffee. Even though he's a distant cousin, it's been very interesting to see all the families and how they go together. However, Nathaniel has proven difficult to add to the Chaffee Family File:
1) Jan 12, 1999 under the heading CHAFFEE family reunion: We have Jonathan's son Nathaniel born Oct 20, 1705 and d Jun 12, 1759. This Nathaniel married Rebecca Mason and then Lydia Peck. His son Nathaniel married Ruth Mansfield and then Susanna Carpenter.

2) on Jan 18, 1999 under the heading CHAFFEE Fam Reunion .... we have:
147. NATHANIEL5 (JR) (NATHANIEL4, JOHNATHAN3, NATHANIEL2, THOMAS1
(11) was born in REHOBOTH, MASS 10/16/1735. He married twice. He married SARAH CARPENTER in REHOBOTH, MASS. He married RUTH MANSFIELD
in REHOBOTH, MASS, 10/15/1755. RUTH (12) was the daughter of BENJAMIN MANSFIELD and DOROTHY CARPENTER. etc.

2) on June 2, 1999 under the heading Jonathan Chaffee/Berkshire
Chaffees .... we have: Nathaniel born 10/20/1705: He married twice. He married SARAH CARPENTER in REHOBOTH, MASS. He married RUTH MANSFIELD in REHOBOTH,
MASS, 10/15/1755. Same information about Ruth, etc.
It looks like two different Nathaniels, and # 2 and # 3 should be the same, but they have two different birth dates, and two different but similarly-named first wives, and two identical second wives. Both times RUTH MANSFIELD gave birth to 12 children by the age of 27. She really had to start young! Especially to have been married to two different Nathaniel Chaffees.

What I am thinking is William H. got his people mixed up somewhere along the line. What do you think? This has been more than puzzling to me for a while.
