Hi Paul! I read through my list and found that Rachel Brice (d.1864, age 51) was Washington Chaffee's first wife. Rachel and Washington had a son named Harry Chaffee (d.1913), he married Theda Phelps (d.1917). Washington (d.1881) was the son of Reuben and Sally Danforth Chaffee. Reuben was the son of Comfort and Lucy Stowe Chaffee. Comfort Chaffee (d.1828) is my gggg `grandfather. My Aunt now has the Chaffee Family book (1950's) -- we know that Comfort was born in Rehobeth, MA, but do not know who his parents were (nor names of his siblings). Would you happen to have any info. to share? I would be very interested in tracing my lineage all the way back to Thomas Chaffee. There are many more Chaffees buried in the West Berkshire cemetary. My Aunt is currently trying to, collectively with the family, restore and revamp the Chaffee resting areas. She compiled a list (of those who are buried there) which consists of about 53 stones. Of course there are more than 53 Chaffees buried there, as some spouses share stones. If you are interested in more names, just let me know. It would take me quite some time to type the entire list, perhaps I could mail it to you. Thanks! Susan
