In researching my husband's family I've found a Archelaus Chadwick, born 30 June 1786. His parents were Abiathar b. ?, d. 8 Dec 1897 in Lee, MA) and Desire ?? (b. abt 1755, d. 13 Aug 1790). His siblings are as follows: Fear 1778-1855 m. Capt. Nathan Ball Herman 1780- Joseph 1782- Mary 1784- Rhodema 1788- Here is what I have on Abiathar: Abiathar was quite active in the town business of Lee and is often mentioned in the town meeting records. He held various posts in town government: surveyor of highways, fence viewer, and hogreave. Children with Bathsheba Stewart: Charles, Desire, Bathsheba, Abiathar Children wtih Desire ??: Fear, Herman, Joseph, Mary, Archelaus Here are some references I haven't had a chance to explore: Gen. Column of the " Boston Transcript". 26 Sep 1932, 2542 Abiathar Chadwick Fam. Letter, 1869, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania Flint Genealogical Quarterly Vol 12 Issue 3 Month July 1970 ACPL owns. Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Application Files, 1800-1900, M804, rolls 461-1710, roll 504 The 1790 census shows him in Lee 1 male over 16, 3 under 16, 3 females Desire's gravestone reads "in the thirty fifth year of her age". I have a feeling that this is the family you are looking for. I would caution you that my dates, etc. are unconfirmed. I think of my information as an outline waiting to be documented. Marnie
