John Wesley Lindsey, born about 1794 in Nash Co NC, died after 1850, probably in Leake Co MS. He married Zany Rose in Nash Co NC before 1824,(5) probably before 1820. She was born about 1790 probably in Nash Co NC and she died after 1850, probably in Leake Co MS. In the 1850 Federal Census, John W. Lindsey was in the household of T.S. and Milley Riley in Leake Co while Zany Lindsey was head of a household with her son, N.M. Lindsey (but they were all in the same dwelling house, Zany Lindsey having family number 561 and T.S. Riley having family number 562). The 1830 Federal Census for John W. Lindsey, Nash Co NC, showed 3 possible sons and 2 possible daughters and all but one of those possible children has been accounted for below.

____John L. Lindsey was born 4 Jun 1852, he died 14 Jun 1918 and he is buried in the Lindsey Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Leake Co MS.
____Nancy Lindsey was born about 1855.
____Sarah Lindsey was born about 1857.
____William Lindsey was born about 1858.
____Other children possibly were born after 1860 (not researched).
2_N.M Lindsey, born about 1824 in Nash Co NC, married Virginia (---) and he probably died in Leake Co MS before 1870 (they possibly had children born after 1860, not researched).
3_A possible third son of John W. Lindsey and Zany Rose, born 1826-1830, was in their 1830 Federal Census household, Nash Co NC.
4_Louisa D. Lindsey, born 19 Apr 1829 in Nash Co NC, died 20 Jan 1855 in Leake Co MS, married Benjamin Ratliff on 19 Dec 1842(1) and they are buried in the Lindsey Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Leake Co MS. Benjamin was not in the 1850 Federal Census household with Louisa and the children but the same children were in his 1860 household, and he had remarried after 20 Jan 1855.(2)

____John Ratliff died 9 Nov 1852 at age 2 months and 24 days and he is buried in the Lindsey Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Leake Co MS.
____Isabelle (Clementine)(1)Ratliff, born 17 Nov 1853, died 12 Nov 1933, married Benjamin Dewitt Bishop and they are buried in the Lindsey Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Leake Co MS.
____Benjamin (Franklin) “Frank”(1) Ratliff was born about 2 Jan 1855 and died 16 Aug 1866 at age 11 years, 7 months and 14 days and he is buried in the Lindsey Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Leake Co MS.
5_Mary Amelia B. Lindsey, born 9 Oct 1829 in Nash Co NC, died 12 Jan 1865, married Almon Chadwick and they are buried in the Lindsey Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Leake Co MS. Almon Chadwick remarried in 1869.(3)(5)

____Robert R. Chadwick was born about 1858.
____Jefferson Davis "Jeff" Chadwick was born 14 Apr 1861, died 4 Feb 1913 and he is buried in the Lindsey Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Leake Co MS.
____Possibly there were other children possible born 1862-12 Jan 1865 (not researched).
6_The 1840 Federal Census for John W. and Zany Lindsey has not been checked and that record might show additional possible children.
