The only Chadwick/Phelps connection I have found is: Mary Chadwick (1795-1879), dau. of Samuel Chadwick (1769-1820), married Chauncey Phelps (1785-1849). Chauncey and Mary had at least one son, Rollin Phelps (1833-1913), who married Nancy Clouse (1835-1906) and they had at least one daughter, Mattie, who married David Singleton. Mattie was born in New Albany, Ohio. Mary Chadwick's father, Samuel, lived in the Granville, OH area after coming to Ohio from, I believe, Vermont and Mary was most probably born in Vermont. The information about the Phelps connection has been derived from the form #67765 submitted to the DAR by Mrs. Mattie Phelps Singleton. By the way, Samuel Chadwick's wife was Elizabeth Pierce, a descendant of Ebenezer Pierce who was a Rev. War soldier, as was John Phelps, the ancestor of Chauncey Phelps, and John Clouse, the ancestor of Nancy Clouse. Hope this is of some help. Hal Cooper
