There is another Chadwick named Lafayette that must be a cousin to your Lafayette. I am searching for ancestors of Council C. Chadwick who had a brother named Lafayette. The information below taken from the Genealogy.com database has their father as James McRae Chadwick. This family is in Onslow County in the 1860 Census. James with 15 year old Lafayette and Council’s families were in Pender County for the 1880 Census.
