Sounds like an interesting theory. Let me digest this some more.

Over the summer I was doing a project in mid KY & swung over to Adair county. I have become convinced that W Chadwick (1880 Williamson Co., IL census) is the William Chadwick / Shadwick in the 1850 - 1870 census. Not sure that I have definitive proof, but too many facts are the same.

Have you any information on John Chadwick (1846 - 1911, married 1869 Polly Roupe (1853 - 1884)) marrying a woman named Margaret about 1886 & enumerated in 1900 Eight Mile Pct., Williamson County? Too much coincidence not too be, but I don't have any proof.

Thanks,

Mark Moeser
