Mary, re your posting of December 2000. John and Anne Yarr (Donegan) were my great great grandparents as well. They had 12 children of whom 4 came to Australia in 1863. They were John, Ann, James Henry and Jane and they settled in Mt.Macedon in Victoria. James Henry is my grandfather.
Other sources I have read says that 2 brother named Yarr came to Ireland with "William's army" in 1690 and fought in the Battle of the Boyne and afterwards settled in Aghagallon. One side of the family is said to have become catholic and I think that that would be our side as that part of my family is catholic at least in name.I have quite a bit more information including the will of John back in Aghagallon which I got from Dolly.
