I'm trying to find the family of PFC Viateur C. Durand, ASN 31148460, 38th Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division. PFC Durand was KIA on October 7, 1944.

PFC Durand entered the service from Providence, RI on June 24, 1942.

He was born in 1918 and before entering the service he lived in Woonsocket City, Ward 2, RI.

I found the Durand family in the 1930 census of Woonsocket City. Father Louis Durand (1862), mother Emellio Durand (1876), sister Amanda Durand (1907), brother Adarien (Adrien) Durand (1910), sister Evelina Durand (1912), sister Alice Durand (1917) and Viateur (1919).

On Find A Grave I found father Louis, birth 1863, death 1949 and mother Emilia, birth 1877, death 1948. Both buried at Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket, RI.

Listed in the SSDI is Evelina Durand, DOB December 26, 1911. DOD June 2, 2000. Last residence, Woonsocket, RI. Can't find an obituary and the library in Woonsocket doesn't respond to email.

PFC Durand is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten. His grave is adopted and the adoptive family would like to get in touch with the Durand family.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help us. Thank you.
