Hi, You may be one of the lucky ones. Reason I say that is because there was a big fire in 1973 that burned millions of Army/Air Corps records but supposedly from last name H-Z. So, if you haven't requested his military records, google Standard Form 180 and complete as much of it as you can before submitting it. See if you can get in touch with the association: http://351st.org/ I believe that this is his partial enlistment record which should help with the Standard Form 180.
