Hello out there!,
My dad (Clark B Nowak Sr.) enlisted in the army in 1942. He rose to the rank of Tech Sgt., possibly before shipping out to New Guinea. After New Guinea he went to the Philippines and Brisbane, Australia. Went to OCS OC #7 and was assigned to the 508th gun battalion upon graduation battery "A" for temporary duty in April of 1945 as a battery commander.
After that was assigned to school at the 513th gun battalion 120mm gun school for training.
Later in the spring of 1946 he contracted Pneumonia, Malaria and Denghe Fever and was not allowed to go home until he was well. Later he was allowed to go home even though he still had malaria.
I would like to know if the 508th saw action and how do I get his medical records?
