I'm trying to find the family of S/Sgt. John H. Van Bockel, ASN: 37078119, 33rd Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Division.S/Sgt. John H. Van Bockel was KIA on September 18, 1944.

S/Sgt. Van Bockel was born January 17, 1919. Before entering the service he lived in Pipestone, MN.

Listed as his beneficiary was his father, Henry J. Van Bockel and his mother Angy S. Van Bockel.

The Van Bockel family appears in the 1930 census of Pipestone (Osborne Twp.), Minnesota.

In the Minnesota Birth Index 1935-2002 I found Josephine Van Bockel as the mother of John Henry Wentzel, Margie Wentzel and Ralph Wentzel.

On Find A Grave I found a Ralph A Wentzel, birth 1916, death January 23, 1987, burial at New Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone. Photo shows gravestone with the following inscription: Wentzel, Ralph A. 1916-1987 and Josephine K. 1916 -

Is Josephine K. Wentzel the sister of S/Sgt. John H. Van Bockel ? Any information more than welcome.
