Francis Aubrey Swartz (born in Virginia, 12/26/1924- died 12/28/1996 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas) served as an American Fighter Pilot during WW2 in France. It was said he flew P51 Mustangs over France. It was also said that Francis Aubrey Swartz served in the Korean Conflict as well, flying Sabre jets there. Francis A. Swartz retired from the USAF as a Major and lived in Dallas and San Antonio, Texas for many years. His sister Margerert J. Swartz mentioned that he took pilot training at Cherry Point, North Carolina. In Korea, he became a POW and war hero, earning the Air Medal or DFC. It is not clear what medals he earned in WW2.

Francis Aubrey Swartz is the Grand-Uncle of Brian Paul Kaess (born 10-24-1967 in Chicago, IL, USA) and the Great Grand-Uncle of Paul Jesus Kaess (born 12/11/2001 in Chicago, IL, USA). This is through Brian Paul Kaess' maternal Grandmother Margeret Jane Swartz (b.1915- 12/28/1997), who as Francis Aubrey swartz sister.

Brian Paul Kaess talked with Francis Aubrey Swartz in 1977 and in 1985. Francis A. Swartz took Brian Paul Kaess and Garret Thomas Kaess on a tour of a Dallas airfield, showing his grand nephews all the planes that he loved.
