This is good to know, thank you. WWI seems to be harder to research than WWII. But I do know that my one grandfather did receive a pension and was admitted to a VA hospital in his old age, where he died.
I just also found another record for a VA home in Tennesse, where he stayed in the early 1920s, where he was suffering from TB and chronic bronchitus. On this record it shows date of discharge as 10/26/1917 in Ontario, NY under reasons it said what I think is SCD. I'm not sure what that means, but the draft card said Jun 5th, 1917. Surely, he wouldn't have had the time to go over seas in such a short time frame?
