Just recently connected my lineage to Patrick
Boyd, born in England 1759, at age 17-18 was
in Augusta Co., VA, then he and Ann McDowell,
daughter of Archibald, made their way to
Ft. Donnally in Greenbrier, where they were
first couple to be married at that location.
They then moved to the Sinks Grove area of
Monroe County and raised their family there.
Patrick d. 3/1/1835, was on the Rev. War
pension list. Strangely enough, my grand-
father, Jasper Bostic, lived on this land
in the 1920s and was executor of the Floyd
Boyd estate, descendant of Patrick Boyd.
However, my connection is through Patrick's
granddaughter, Esther, who m. George
Drummond in Botetourt Co. in 1812. Esther
was the daughter of William Boyd. I have
an interesting story about Patrick Boyd
which was passed along from generation to
generation and will be posting it on the
internet as time permits under
In the meantime, would like to exchange
further information on this lineage with
you. Need complete listing of Patrick's
children. Thanks. Dorothy Miller
