Ex-Lumberman Amos Tincher Is Dead
Amos Tincher, 101-year-old Van, Boone
County, resident, died Sunday in a Madison hospital. He was a retired lumberman and had beon a resident of Boone County since 1908. A native of Monroe County, he engaged in the lumber business in that county before moving to Boone County. Surviving are two sons. George
Tincher of Barrett and William Tincher of Wharton; four daughters,
Mrs. Nora Cooper and Mrs. Florence Holley, both of Huntington, Mrs. Iva Sigmon of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Rosie McClure of Rainelle;
a brother, Luther Tincher of Vermont, Wash.; 36 grandchildren;
and 29 great-grandchildren. Service will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday
in Barrett Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Michael officiating.
Burial will be in White Cemetery at Barrett under the direction of
Hunter and Hunter Mortuary of Mndison. The body is at the home of
son, George Tincher of Barrett.
