I am trying to confirm whom the parents of Nancy Ann Moss b.1782 Monroe Co. West Va. married Andrew Jackson Higginbotham 05-31-1800 Monroe Co. and died approx. 1815 Wayne Co. Ky. The children that I know of are 1)Susannah Higginbotham b.1802 2)Moses H. Higginbotham b.1803, 3)Samuel H. Hiigginbotham b.1807, 4)Malinda Higginbotham b.1813 I believe that Nancy Ann Moss parents are James Moss & Phoebe Lewis, I am not positive though. I believe this James Moss is the early settler that built a cabin on Sweet Springs in 1760 and later sold to the Lewis family. He then purchased a farm from George Sayers and it became known as the Moss place, this is where his daughter Susannah and her husband Andrew Jackson Higginbotham also settled. I believe Andrew Jackson Higginbotham b.1780 d.1858 Wayne Co. Ky. parents were Moses Higginbotham and Mary Black. I am not positive if these are his parents either. Any help with these families would be very appreciated. |
