On the 1860 Federal Census, Monroe County, Virginia, Peterstown District, page 787, HH 39, family 39, Ancestry image 12 of 51 I found: Green B. McCormick, age 34, farmer, value of r.p. $125 Martha, 34, over 20 but cannot read or write (Most of the wives on the page have that box checked.) Mary, 13 Angelina, 8 Richard, 6 Augustus, 2/12ths None of the children have "attended school" checked. Only one child on the page does. I don't know who sent you the marriage date, nor where he/she got it. It looks plausible.
