Hi Ken As you know I have been reseaerching the different Moses Wrays in the 1700's in Virginia. There seems to be a mixupI believe in the different Moses Wrays. There was a mOses WRay that died in Amherst co Va in 1766. As you know there was a Moses wRay who was lisstd in Lundneburg co Va in 1748 with Joseph Wray and Benjamin Wray. Benjamin Wray died I believe in 1749. Joseph Wray became the sheriff of Bedford co Va and died I believe in 1766 in Bedford co Va. He would have been Mose's brother. that Moses was not the Moses wray who died in 1766 in Amherst co Va. a lady naed Carrie who has researched Moses wRay for years said that the Moses wray who died in 1766 in Anherst coVa was the father of the Moses WRay who died in 1802 in Franklin co Va but I believe you posted the Moses wray sho died in 1802 in Frankllin co Va was the son of the Moses wray who was listed in the 1749 Lunenbug co Va censu with Joseph Wray. I know the Moses wEray who died in 1802 died in Franklin co Va but Carrie said her ancestor Moses wray die in 1802 i franklin co Va and he was the son of the Moses Wray who died in 1766 in Amherst co Va which was a different Moes Wray than the one that was listed in 1849 in unenburg co Va. as you know Bedford Co Va was formed from Lunenburg co Va in 1753 and Frannklin co Va was formed from Bedford co Va in I believe the 1780's. There were two Moses wrays who researchers are saying were the father of the moses Wray Jr who died in 1802 in Franklin co Va. I wanted to see what you thought. I had ne other question. There ws a William Wray that died in 1778 or 1779 in Bedford co Va. A will can not be found but an inventory was filed. Would you know if this was the William Wray born about 1700 and married to an Anne who had lived in Brunswick co va until the late 1760's? They had a son named Baker and a William Wray or Ray jr.Thanks, Ross |
