Dear Mr. Davis,
I found your listing of the caualties of the U.S. Army informational but unfortunately I did not find my relative among them. (Maybe fortunate is the proper word.) All I have to go on is oral family history that he was wounded. I have a cousin in Nebraska who did find one small clue when she checked with the Nebraska Nat. Guard. It was for an authorization "chit" for transportation, so he could get home. My relative was with the NE Nat. Grd. at the time of Wounded Knee and was supposedly assigned to the 7th Cav. His name on the travel ticket was garbled and mispelled. Such is the life of a researcher I guess.
