I am from the Mahala Jane Worthington Nichols line. She was a daughter of Edward Jefferies Worthington and Elizabeth Wayland. The widow Elizabeth Wayland Worthington married Samuel Nichols and her daughter Mahala Jane married his son, William Nichols. Both were Presbyterian ministers. I understand Edwarad Jefferies Wothington was also a Reverend. What church? Can you prove he was Capt. Edward Worthington's son? The DAR says he was not as there was another Edward Worthington in KY after 1827. Census records indicate there were two Edward Worthingtons, maybe cousins? Was Edward Jeffries Worthington in the navy? Some indication that he was. Would his military records be helpful? Thanks Minerva Spalding Howard
