Which John Payne would she be the daughter of? There are so many! I see that you saying John, s/o Flayl who d. 1764. Did this John Payne stay in MD? The John Payne who left a will in 1798 in Bedford lists his daughters and Martha is not one of them.

What relationship is Martha Payne Whorley Lynch to the Thomas Payne who gave testimony for the pension of Patrick Lynch stating that he had come from Frederick Co., Md with his father in 1773? He states his uncle Flayl Payne came to Bedford Va in 1779 with Patrick Lynch driving his team. I think that I missing a clue that will tie these people together and either I don't have the clue or I am missing seeing it.

The spelling thing has been difficult except that in Bedford Va. the use of the Whorley spelling seems mostly to signify descendants of Francis Whorley and Martha. The Worley group is a seperate bunch that descends from John Worley and wife Esther, originally from Powhatan Co.,Va. There are a couple of exceptions to this, but for the most part it works. I have both groups of Worleys in Bedford pretty much sorted out, just trying to figure out Francis' ancestors.

I have a multitude of questions, like is Francis related to the David Worley who served in the revolution from Frederick Md. David served as a substitute for Thomas Worley. Again, any relationship between Thomas Worley and Francis that you know of?
OR is Francis Worley related to the group from Botetourt county Va that seems to have come from PA/Md?
