Harvey Woods, born ca 1814 and died ca 1880, can be found in Jefferson Co., TN. in 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880. His wife was Martha Patsy (last name unknown). Harvey's parents are unknown.

This Harvey's wife was not Patsy Clayton, daughter of John Clayton and Hannah Kyle. Hannah Kyle Clayton's will was recorded in Monroe Co., TN and executed April 10, 1845. She mentions her daughter, Patsy Dunn. Perry Dunn and wife Patsy with children, can be found in Polk Co., TN in 1850. One of their children is Levi D. Dunn who many family trees have included wrongly as a son of Harvey and Patsy Woods above.

This same Harvey of Jefferson Co. was not the son of John Woods and Charity Dysart. He did not die in Mississippi.
I believe the son of John and Charity was the Harvey Woods and wife Cecelia found in Mississippi in 1850 (children listed). In 1850 his occupation was shown as teacher. In 1860 his occupation was shown as clergyman.

I found a Harvey Woods/Wood with wife Cynthis and children in Jackson Co., TN in 1850, 1850 and 1870. In 1880 they were in Clay Co., TN.

So be aware the name HARVEY WOODS is not uncommon and for the benefit of your descendants try to make the proper connection in order for them to know who their ancestors were.
