I am trying to find information on my greatgrandfather, Augustus C. Wirt who was born in Lancaster County, PA on Oct. 22, 1814 and married Jerusha Brannon in 1840. They came west on the Oregon Trail in 1844 and settled on Clatsop Plains, Oregon. His father, Philip Wirt, was born in 1781 in York Co, PA. He was a hatter by trade and died in York Co., PA.
