Wondering if your "Mary" is the wife of James. If your "Mary" was born in circ 1846 Ireland and married to a Wilbanks who was also born in Ireland in 1880 census there is only one Wilbanks family born in that era and they are in NJ. Also odd that your "Mary" was only having her first child at 34 years of age as you say son John was born in 1880.
