Kelly, I have pulled up some information from the Internet for you at this site: http://www.herby.com.pl/herby/indexslo.html. This tells you where all of the adults with the last name of Wierzchowski were living in Poland in 1990. By the way, Wierschowski is the German spelling for Wierzchowski. Nazwisko Ogólna liczba Rozmieszczenie Wierzchowski 4263 Wa:314, BP:401, Bs:70, By:111, Ch:35, Ci:229, Cz:98, El:102, Gd:142, Go:28, JG:29, Kl:43, Ka:183, Ki:128, Ko:29, Kr:45, Lg:39, Ls:30, Lu:404, L~o:9, L~d:37, NS:3, Ol:157, Op:22, Os:7, Pl:40, Pt:4, Pl~:120, Po:15, Pr:11, Ra:30, Rz:6, Sd:240, Sr:11, Sk:25, Sl~:27, Su:153, Sz:148, Tb:27, Ta:7, To:394, Wb:17, Wl~:87, Wr:97, Za:62, ZG:47 Note the mark ~ after the letter l - L, means there is a slash mark through that letter. It is pronounced was a W in English. The Polish language uses the W as a V in English pronounciation. If you wish to find out the names of the above provinces, go to the above website and click on this link on that page: Tutaj znajduja się objasnienia skrotow. When you click on it, a popup will appear. On that popup there is another link: Zobacz mape. Click on it, and a map will appear. If you are familiar with the parts of today's Poland, which was part of East Prussia. Tina Ellis |
