Omro Weekly Journal Dec. 6, 1877 p. 3 DIED Old Mrs. Dwyer, who lived in the small house just east of the Catholic church, died last week of cancer. She was buried Sunday in Poygan. Before her death, Mrs. Dwyer requested Mrs. Gordon Knough to see that she had a decent burial, and also to give $5 to the Priest. The morning that the old lady died, Mrs. Knough was called over to the house. Mrs. James Powers, Mr. Angevine, and other neighbors were there. In a skirt belonging to the deceased, was found one note of $100, one of $200 and $19 in money. The money and notes were shown to those present, and after consultation, Mrs. Knough sent for N. Frank, J.P., and turned the property over to him. He gave Mrs. Knough $10, and told her to use it in procuring necessary articles for burial, which she did. Subsequently, Mr. Morrisey, who lives near Waukau, and whose wife is a distant relative of the deceased, came down and created quite a sensation. Mrs. Knough was accused of stealing the property, and other language used that was unjust to Mrs. Knough and the other neighbors present. They have done everything possible for the old lady during her residence on the hill, furnishing her food, and caring for her in other ways. To be thus unjustly accused is wrong, but those who know them, know that they have done what was right. Once of the notes found was against Mr. Morrisey, but whether this had any influence over him, we of course cannot say. We hope not.
