Brother Raymond T. White, 87, of Greeneville, Greene Co
TN, formerly of Cookeville, TN, passed away Thursday,
August 9, 2012, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

Born April 26, 1925, in Union County, he was a son of the
late S. M. and Carrie Callaway White. He grew up on a farm
in Jefferson County.

He joined the U.S. Army at age 16 and served four years,
two of those in the European-African-Middle Eastern

deserved medals in 2001.

Rev. White returned to Mascot and married Jackie Norton.

He worked in zinc mines until he surrendered to Christ's
calling to full-time service in 1950. He pastored churches
in East and Middle Tennessee and South Eastern, KY.

He graduated from Clear Creek Baptist seminary in 1966,
while pastoring full time and raising his family.

He was a Southern Baptist minister and was a member of
Clark Range Baptist Church.

Rev. White evangelized in many revivals, served on mission
fields, was blessed with a trip to the Holy Land, and
served the Tennessee Baptist Convention in tent ministry.

He loved visiting the sick, preaching the gospel, gospel
music, and golfing. He carried a picture of Jesus in his
wallet so he could show people a picture of his best friend.

Rev. White was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie.

FL, Debbie and Steve Hale, of the Orebank community, and
Patricia White, of Greeneville, TN; two grandsons, Michael
