My understanding is that information on death certs. were supplied by a family member, which can cause a lot of mistakes. Aura gave the attending doctor "guckenhime" as a spelling for Guggenheim on Henry Wetzler's. According to the 1900 census, David Wetzler Sr does give his and his parent's place of birth as Germany. The same person in MA gave me the information off his naturalization records, and his country of origin as Germany and his arrival date as 1846. Catherine gives her date of arrival as 1852 on that same census, which means their son David had to be born here. Again, the same lady that looked up the census for me could not find any marriage record for them, or birth records for any of the children that were born in MA. Does anyone know their port of entries?
