I am trying to find information out about my family. My gr-gr-grandparents: Christopher or Christian (Wesderfer, Westover, Wesdoerfer) b. Nov 1851, Baden, Germany married: Sarah Brunner, b. July 1857, PA Their Chilren were: Westover Joseph, b. Aug 1876, Wilkes Barre, PA Charles, b. May 1879, " " Oscar, b. 1881 " " John, b. Nov 1882, " " George, April 1884, " " Kate or Catherine, b. Feb 1886 " " Flora, b. Feb. 1888, " " Ambrose, b. Feb 1890, " " Edward, b. Jan 1892, " " Hilda, b. Feb 1895, " " Annie, b. Feb 1897, " " Francis, b. Feb 1899, " " Albert, b. 1901 " " Christopher (Christian) came to the US around 1853-54. I did find a imigration record in Germans to America 1850-1874 the following family: Arrival Date: May 22, 1854 Country of Origin: Baden Final Destination: New York Port of Embarkation: Havre Ship's Name: Statesman Wersdoerfer, Anna, Age 28 Wersdoerfer, Christian, infant Wersdoerfer, Peter, age 31 Wersdoerfer, Peter, age 4 I found a Pennsylvania 1910 Census Miracode Index record for Peter Westerfer age: 61 Birth: Germany County: Columbia, PA Family: wife: Mary 58, PA son: Peter, 35, Pa son: Frank, 25, PA dau: Mary, 22, PA son: George, 19, PA I am trying to figure out if Peter and Christian were brothers. As you can see the last name has been spelled many different ways depending on the records you look at. Do any of these people sound familiar to you.
