Great! If he is listed as the "warrantee", who is listed as the "patentee"? If it's him, then he patented land himself. Also, look at the line that says "authority" and see if he got the land under the scrip-warrant act of 1812, or perhaps 1850 or 1855. If it was in 1812, there won't be much at NARA in the form of documentation. If it was 1850 or 1855, when acts were passed to grant veterans additional bounty land, then there should be a dandy bounty land application file.
