Am trying to find some information of my ancestor John Winslow, who was probably involved in War of 1812. He was married to Mary Van Deusen.
He was born on June 21, 1789 in Ware, Mass., died Mar. 8, 1828 in Groton, NY. He is buried in Groton Cemetery.
Married Jan 30, 1814 in Groton, NY, Mary Van Deusen, daughter of John and Rachel (Belden) Van Deusen.
Children: Harriet, Lucinda Emiline, Clarinda Caroline, Wealthy Maria, Horatio Gates, John, Thomas, Rhoda Ann.
Horatio Gates Winslow married Emily Bradley in King Ferry, NY, she is the grandaughter of Jonathan Allen (Revolution War Soldier).
Here is what the genealogy records told me: "John Winslow served in War of 1812, stationed in Fort George and in Battle of Queenstown, Canada".
If anyone suggest a way to locate his war records, that will be greatly appreciated.
