I am seeking information on the activities of Captain John Wailes of the Maryland Militia in the War of 1812. He led a miltia company from Montgomery County under Cramer's Regiment or Detachment. The Date of Service is from August 29 to October 19, 1814 with a discharge from service in Washington City. Cramer's Detachment fought in the Battle of Bladensburg on August 24, 1814. The Burning of Washington occurred on 24/25 of August. The date of service suggests that Capt Wailes Company was called to service just after these events.
