OXFORD – Ola Mae Stockard Walton, 84, died May 17, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. A native of Lafayette County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. E.J. and Emma Stockard. She was a member of Christ Temple CME Church in Oxford, where she served as an usher, choir member, stewardess and missionary. She was a member of Bathsheba Chapter 27, Order of the Eastern Star. She loved children, quilting, canning, cooking, sewing, singing and fishing. She was a very good mother.

Services were at Clear Creek M.B. Church. Burial was in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oxford. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Oxford was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors included six daughters, Emma (Phil) George of Canton, Arnetchers Dudley of Oxford, Sandra (Arthur) Carver of Manassas, Va., Eula (Larry) Buford of Jackson, Venessar (Clarence) Williams of Etta and Evertean (Darrell) Miller of Memphis; four sons, Robert Lee (Mary) Howard of Oxford, Terry (Bertha) Howard of Jackson, Bishop Lamar (Mildred) Walton Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and Thomas (Ginger) Walton of Water Valley; one sister, Estelle Ruffin of Oxford; 33 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandson.
