HI Donna,

I am just updating this old post to let others know what we know.

John T. Wallin/g is the son of Joseph Wallin and Susannah Cook who were married in Nov. 1833 in Keyham, Leicester, England.

John T. Wallin was brother to:

Richard Wallin b. Leicester

Thomas Wallin b. Leicester

Mary Ann Wallin m. Horace John Christian in Mentz, Cayuga County, NY, then moved to Calhoun County, MI by 1876. Born Leicester.

Carrie M. Wallin born August 31, 1847 in Long Island, NY, only child born in America.

Susan, mother, children John, Richard, Thomas and Mary Ann Wallin came to New York, NY on board the Shenandoah from Liverpool in August 1845, with Alexander Cook, Margaret Cook, Richard Townsend, and Birdie McElhenny.

In 1850 the Wallin's are listed as WALLACE in Brooklyn, NY.

Sometime between 1850 and 1860, the Wallin family separated (death?) and the sons were sent to work at a Livery, I suspect the Hotel and Livery of John Christian at Port Byron, Cayuga County, NY, as sister Mary Ann Wallin married Horace John Christian and John named a son Horace. By 1858, the sons, John, Richard & Thomas were serving in the Army &/or Navy.

In 1860 John Wallin is in the Army at Ft. Randall.

In 1860 Mary Ann is married & in Cayuga County, NY.

In 1860 little sister Carrie is in Calhoun County, MI and listed as Caroline VanOstrand with Benj and Susan VanOstrand.

In 1863, John Wallin leaves Sac City, Iowa and goes to Albion, Calhoun County, MI to escort Carrie to the home of their sister, Mary Ann (Wallin) Christian. I assume they went by train.

In 1870 John Wallin and wife Hannah (Carter) and family are listed inSac City, Iowa.

In 1870 Carrie (Clara) Wallin is living with Mary Ann (Wallin) CHristian in Mentz, Cayuga County, NY.

In 1880 Carrie is married to H.G. Brown (aka Harmon Gilson Brown) in Steuben County, IN with 3 step children and a new born unnamed son).

Then Carrie moves to Doland, S.D. until 1898.

John T. Wallin lives in Napa, Ca

Mary Ann (Wallin) Christian is widowed in Aug. 1877 and moves to Kalamazoo, MI.

By 1910 Carrie Brown is living with youngest son, Guy Harmon Brown in Kalamazoo, MI.

Mary Ann (Wallin) CHristian died Dec. 1905 in Kalamazoo, MI.

Carrie M. Brown died Feb. 1920 in Kalamazoo.
John T. Wallin/g dies June 1920 in Napa, Ca.

We are searching for the remaining siblings, Richar and Thomas Wallin/g.
