I am looking for any information on Helena Wallin. Here is the info that I have: She was orphaned at about 13 in sweden and made a living as an interpreter on trans atlantic steam ships. She finally came to the US and ended up in Utah working as a cook on Brigham Young's cattle ranch. When Young's head wife told her she was to become one of his wives or she had to leave, she told all the visiting ranchers that she would marry the first one that took her to CA. That was Faustino Moreno, sheep rancher that traded sheep for cattle with Brigham Young. He had two kids from a previous marriage (widower): Charlie and Henry. Supposedly Helena and Faustino were married at Mission San Jose, but I cannot find records. Faustino died in a freak farm accident and Helena took her step sons and her inheritance and traveled to Lemoore, CA by covered wagon. Peter Felix's mother gave her a job cooking for the sheep herders in town. She met Peter Felix through his mother and they married. She became a court interpreter with her language skills and knew all the judges in town, they settled in Hanford, CA and had a daughter named Daisy in 1886. Any more info about prior years or actual dates would be great. Please help!
