He professed faith in Christ on August 18, 1961. He was a
faithful member and served as: deacon and trustee for
Poplar Grove Primitive Baptist Church. He also taught
Sunday school for a number of years. Paul Wallen graduated
from Sullivan High School, Kingsport TN, served proudly in
the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and retired from
the Kingsport Times News in 1995 after 39 years of service
as Advertising manager. He was a loving husband, father,
and grandfather. His faith in God was strong, and he
depended greatly in his last days on the comforting words
of Romans 8:18, 'For I reckon that the sufferings of this
present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory
which shall be revealed in us.' His love and spirit will
be missed, but we look forward to meeting him again on
that Great Reunion Day.

He is survived by his wife Jean Ferguson Wallen and had
recently celebrated 50 years of marriage; 2 sons, Stan and
Andy and wife Krystall Wallen; two dearly loved grand-
daughters, Meredith and Rachel; brother, Delmer Wallen, Sr.
and wife, Jean; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father and mother, William Henry
and Bertha Bledsoe Wallen; brothers, Oval, Burnice, Glynn,
