Will of Isaac Rice Sr. was written 1818 in Roane County,TN proved December 1823 Rhea County,TN Minutes. All these children attributed to him were actually his brother JOHN'S children.
John named his son, Isaac Rice (this is the one who died 1823 in McMinn County)and Joseph Mee his executors. Millicent Rice who married Joseph Bartlett was John's daughter as well.

Isaac left the bulk of his estate to his brother John's children. He apparently had no children of his own that we can prove. Other brothers, as proven in Isaac's will, were Benjamin Rice and Moses Rice. James Rice, who was surety for two Rice daughters, was Benjamin's son, and he moved to Marion County, TN along with the Thompsons, and are there in 1840.
Franklin County records show a Benjamin Rice Sr. and Jr. about 1812.. This could have been old Benjamin's son and grandson. Franklin County adjoins Marion County, so it is likely since James was there in that area, Benjamin would have been also. Another daughter of Benjamin Rice was Rachell Rice, who married William Hullett in Rutherford County, NC in 1795. They settled in what is now DeKalb County, and were members there at Salem Church, near Liberty, as early as 1817.
I spent a great many years trying to research this family, thinking they were mine, but turns out they are not related, as evidenced by DNA testing.
